Viby

Viby sits on the Hindsholm peninsula in the north-eastern corner of Funen, only a short distance from Kerteminde and the wide waters of the Great Belt. The village gathers around the whitewashed Viby Church, whose medieval walls and distinctive tower have watched over the district for centuries. On a rise nearby stands Viby Mill, a Dutch-style windmill that recalls the days when grain was ground locally. Around the village spreads a gently rolling farmland of fields, hedgerows and narrow lanes that wind down toward the coast. It is a peaceful spot, ideal for quiet walks and cycling through Hindsholm's open countryside. Visitors appreciate the undisturbed atmosphere, the old farmsteads and the closeness to beaches and scenic views. Viby offers a genuine taste of traditional Funen village life, far from the bustle of the towns and well worth a leisurely detour.
