Øster Egesborg

Øster Egesborg is a tranquil village set among the gently rolling farmland of southern Zealand, within Vordingborg Municipality. Its heart is the whitewashed medieval church, whose Romanesque nave and later Gothic additions have watched over the parish for some eight centuries. Around it spread hedgerows, grazing meadows and quiet lanes that invite unhurried walks and cycle rides. The village lies within easy reach of Præstø Fjord and the coastal hamlet of Kalvehave, where the Dronning Alexandrines Bro carries the road across to the island of Møn. There are no crowds here, only the rhythm of rural Danish life: church bells, birdsong and wide skies over open fields. Visitors drawn to authentic countryside, local history and slow travel will find Øster Egesborg a restful stop — a place to breathe deeply before continuing toward the beaches, chalk cliffs and market towns of the surrounding region.
