Tisvilde, better known as Tisvildeleje, is one of North Zealand's most beloved seaside towns, perched where the Tisvilde Hegn forest meets a broad, dune-backed beach on the Kattegat coast. Once a humble fishing hamlet, it grew into a fashionable summer retreat, and its winding lanes still blend thatched cottages, timber summer houses, and a lively little village centre. The vast pine and oak forest was planted to halt centuries of drifting sand; today its wind-sculpted 'Troldeskov' (Troll Wood) draws walkers and cyclists.
