Roholte is a small village in Faxe Municipality in the southeast of Zealand, not far from Præstø Fjord and the limestone coast of Faxe Bay. It sits in gently rolling farmland where fields, hedgerows and scattered farmsteads form a quiet southern-Zealand scene. At its heart stands the whitewashed Roholte Church, a medieval village church whose tower is visible far across the open land. The area has been settled since the Middle Ages and still bears traces of the old parish community of church, rectory and surrounding agriculture. Roholte is a peaceful place free of city noise, well suited to unhurried drives and cycle rides along the winding gravel lanes. From here it is a short trip to the coast at Faxe Ladeplads, to the historic market town of Præstø, and to the UNESCO-listed Stevns Klint to the north. The village offers a genuine glimpse of everyday country life in southern Denmark.
