Nørre Vissing

Nørre Vissing is a small village in the Central Jutland Lake District, beautifully set between Skanderborg and Silkeborg in a rolling landscape of woods, fields and shimmering lakes. This is among Denmark's most hilly regions, and the soft ridges around the village open onto wide views that are rare in an otherwise flat country. The settlement has roots in old farming society, and the name Vissing has been known since the Middle Ages. Today it is a quiet place to live, where daily life is shaped by the closeness of nature. Visitors come above all for the still landscape: forest paths, undulating gravel roads and small lakes invite walking and cycling. Its central position makes Nørre Vissing a good base for trips to Himmelbjerget, the town of Ry and the great lakes. Here travellers meet a calm, authentic Denmark, far from city noise.
