Lemvig - Pearl of the West Coast

Lemvig is an atmospheric market town at the innermost corner of the Limfjord in western Jutland, nestled between hills and close to the wild North Sea coast. With a population of around 6,750, it is the seat of Lemvig Municipality and sits between the fjord and the small Lemvig Sø lake, in a landscape sculpted by the last ice age into steep slopes and sweeping views over the water. The town has preserved much of its maritime and merchant character, with a snug harbour, winding streets and old houses that give it the reputation of a pearl of the west coast. Nearby attractions include striking coastal scenery, heathland and the distinctive land-art works that dot the surrounding region. Sheltered yet within reach of dramatic open shoreline, Lemvig makes an appealing base for walking, cycling and exploring the Limfjord and the Jutland west coast. The town is freely accessible to visitors year-round, with its harbour, shops and cultural life most active through the summer season.
