Kongensbro is a small settlement in Central Jutland where the road crosses the Gudenå, Denmark's longest river, between the villages of Ans and Bjerringbro. The name means "the King's Bridge" and recalls an old crossing point where travellers passed the water for centuries. Today the place is prized for its peaceful setting along the broad, slow-moving river, framed by meadows, woodland and gently rolling hills. Beside the bridge stands a long-established inn that has welcomed guests journeying through the Jutland lake district. Kongensbro is a favourite starting point for canoe and kayak trips on the Gudenå, for angling, and for quiet walks beside the water.
