Keldby is a small village on the island of Møn, lying a few kilometres east of the market town of Stege along the road toward the famous chalk cliffs of Møns Klint. The village's undisputed treasure is Keldby Church, a whitewashed medieval church whose vaults are covered with some of Denmark's best-preserved wall paintings. Created by several generations of church painters, the frescoes depict biblical scenes with a vivid, folk-like storytelling and form part of the island's celebrated trio of fresco churches alongside Elmelunde and Fanefjord. Around the church spreads a quiet farming landscape of fields, farmhouses and narrow lanes that invite a leisurely bicycle ride.
