Holte

Holte is a leafy, affluent town in Rudersdal municipality, roughly 20 kilometres north of Copenhagen. Set among some of North Zealand's most beautiful lakes and forests, it borders the tranquil Vejlesø and the larger Furesø, Denmark's deepest lake, while the beech woods of Rude Skov stretch away to the west. Part of the capital's so-called "whisky belt," Holte is known for its handsome villas, quiet residential streets and easy access to nature. The compact centre around Holte Station and Holte Midtpunkt offers shops, cafés and restaurants, and the S-train makes the town an easy day trip. Sailing and rowing clubs dot the lakeshore, while walkers and cyclists follow trails through the woods. With its mix of suburban calm, green surroundings and gentle waterside charm, Holte offers a relaxed glimpse of prosperous Danish everyday life.
