Hjulby

Hjulby is a small village in eastern Funen, a few kilometres west of the fortress town of Nyborg. It sits in a flat, cultivated landscape of fields, hedgerows and scattered farmsteads. Close by lies Hjulby Sø, a calm lake that draws birdlife and locals who enjoy a stroll along its shore. Thanks to its position near the E20 motorway and the railway, Hjulby makes a practical base for exploring all of Funen while keeping its quiet, rural character. From here it is a short trip to Nyborg's medieval castle, its charming harbour and the Great Belt Bridge leading towards Zealand. The surrounding countryside invites cycling along minor roads that link villages and coastal meadows. Hjulby offers an authentic glimpse of rural east Funen, where the pace is slow and daily life unfolds between sky, lake and open fields, far from the bustle of larger towns yet easily within reach of them.
