Henne Kirkeby

Henne Kirkeby is a small village in Varde Municipality in western Jutland, tucked among dune heaths, plantations and open farmland just a few kilometres from the North Sea. The village takes its name from its old whitewashed church, whose tower has guided travellers across the flat landscape for centuries. From here it is a short distance to the seaside resort of Henne Strand, with its wide sandy beach, rolling dunes and bracing sea air. The area is loved by walkers, cyclists and families seeking quiet and nature far from the bustle of the towns. Henne Kirkeby is also known for its historic country inn, which has made the region a gastronomic destination of international standing. With farms, fields and shifting dunes, the place captures the calm, down-to-earth spirit of West Jutland, making a peaceful base for exploring the coast and countryside.
