Helstrup

Helstrup is a small village in Randers Municipality in eastern Jutland, beautifully set in gently rolling countryside near the broad valley of the Gudenå, Denmark's longest river. Here you encounter genuine Danish rural life, with farmsteads, open fields and quiet lanes where the pace is slow and nature is never far away. The area around Helstrup is known for its open meadows and water meadows along the river, which draw abundant birdlife and invite unhurried walks and cycle rides. Nearby Fladbro and the Gudenå trail give access to some of the region's finest natural scenery, while the historic market town of Randers lies just a few kilometres to the east with shops, museums and restaurants. Helstrup is not a tourist destination in the conventional sense, but an authentic slice of Denmark where visitors can experience Jutland's farming culture, classic village charm and the tranquil beauty of a great river.
