Guderup

Guderup sits at the heart of the Baltic island of Als in Sønderborg Municipality and is one of the larger towns of the old Egen parish. It serves as a local trade and service hub for northern Als, with a school, shops and quiet residential streets set among the gently rolling South Jutland countryside. Just to the east lies Nørreskoven, one of Denmark's most beautiful coastal forests, where paths wind beneath ancient beech and oak trees along the shore of the Little Belt. The nearby Egen Church reflects the area's long history. Guderup makes a fine base for cycling and walking across the island, down to the beach and onward to Sønderborg and Nordborg. Here you can feel the relaxed island mood of Als, where fields, forest and sea meet, and everyday life in a small Danish town unfolds in peaceful surroundings all year round.
