Yding is a tranquil village in the rolling countryside of eastern Jutland, tucked between Skanderborg and Horsens in central Denmark. Though small, it lends its name to one of the country's most celebrated heights: Yding Skovhøj, a wooded hill crowned by Bronze Age burial mounds. Rising to around 170 metres when its ancient barrow is counted, it was long considered Denmark's highest point and still draws walkers seeking wide views over fields, forest and distant church spires. The surrounding landscape is classic Danish farmland—hedgerows, grazing pastures and quiet lanes ideal for cycling. Yding itself offers little more than a cluster of homes and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a restful stop rather than a destination in its own right.
