Vedersø is a small village in western Jutland, close to the North Sea and just north of Ringkøbing Fjord. The place is inseparably linked to the pastor and playwright Kaj Munk, who served as parish priest here from 1924 until his death in 1944, when he was murdered by the German occupying forces. His grave lies beside the whitewashed Vedersø Church, and the old vicarage is today a museum and memorial telling the story of his life and work. Flat, wind-swept farmland spreads out around the village toward the dunes. A few kilometres west lies Vedersø Klit, a quiet holiday-home area with broad sandy beaches and dune heaths facing the sea. The district is a peaceful base for hiking, birdwatching and long shore walks far from the bustle of towns.
