Turup

Turup is a small, unassuming village on western Funen, tucked into the gently rolling farmland of Assens Municipality. Life here moves at a rural Danish pace, framed by hedgerows, open fields and quiet country lanes that wind between scattered farmsteads and red-brick houses. At its heart stands Turup Church, a whitewashed medieval parish church whose tower has watched over the community for centuries. There are no crowds or tourist trappings — the appeal lies in the calm, the wide Funen skies and the sense of stepping into everyday Denmark. Cyclists and walkers enjoy the lightly trafficked roads that link Turup to the market town of Assens on the coast and the larger village of Glamsbjerg inland. Come here to breathe, to slow down, and to glimpse the timeless rhythm of rural Funen, the island often called the garden of Denmark.
