Smørumovre is a peaceful village in Egedal Municipality, set among fields and hedgerows west of Copenhagen on the island of Zealand. Its name is tied to one of Denmark's most remarkable prehistoric discoveries: a large Bronze Age hoard of weapons and tools that testifies to the area's importance thousands of years ago.
