Sletten

Sletten is an old fishing hamlet on the North Zealand shore of the Øresund, just north of Humlebæk in Fredensborg Municipality. The settlement grew up around small-scale fishing, and today the snug Sletten Harbour remains its natural heart, with fishing boats, dinghies and an atmosphere that feels a world away from the city. Along the water, low, often ochre-washed houses line winding lanes that speak of the village's long life as a coastal community. From here the view opens wide across the sound towards Sweden, and the coastal path invites unhurried walks with salt in the air. Sletten lies close to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and pairs easily with a day by the sea. It is a peaceful place to enjoy the harbour setting, the clear northern light and the maritime charm that has drawn bathers and artists here for generations.
