Skyum

Skyum is a small village in Thy in north-western Jutland, set in the rolling countryside southeast of Thisted near the southern shore of the Limfjord. It is best known for Skyum Bjerge, a striking moraine landscape where steep hills and open grazing meadows tumble down toward the fjord. From the hilltops, sweeping views open across the water, the green pastures and the scattered farmsteads, making the area a favourite with walkers and nature lovers. Here the rugged character of Thy meets a quiet farming community where time seems to move more slowly. The little whitewashed Skyum Church and the winding gravel lanes lend the place a still, authentic charm. Skyum lies close to both Thy National Park and the fjord towns, making it a fine base for exploring the region's coasts, heathlands and local history in peace and calm.
