Ruds Vedby

Ruds Vedby is a small railway town set in the rolling countryside of West Zealand, in Sorø Municipality. The town grew up along the line between Slagelse and Værslev and has kept a quiet, rural feel, with low houses, old shop fronts and a whitewashed church. Nearby stands the manor of Ruds Vedbygård, whose towers and parkland speak of the area's long history of great estates. Fields, woodland edges and small lakes spread out around the town, and its calm roads invite cycling and walking. There are no tourist crowds or heavy traffic here, which is exactly why it makes a good base for discovering the real Zealand hinterland. Visitors can follow local paths, admire the old timber-framed farms in the surrounding parishes and feel the pace slow down. Ruds Vedby offers an honest glimpse of Danish provincial life, where nature and farming meet.
