Ristinge is a small village on the southern tip of the island of Langeland in southern Denmark. It is best known for Ristinge Strand, one of Langeland's finest bathing beaches, whose long stretch of pale sand and shallow, child-friendly water draws holidaymakers each summer. Just west rises Ristinge Klint, a dramatic Ice Age cliff where glaciers folded layers of clay and sand into striking patterns, now a protected geological landmark and a fine spot for fossil hunting and coastal walks. Beyond the cliff, the narrow Ristinge Hale spit curves into the sea, sheltering a lagoon rich in birdlife. The village itself is quiet and low-key, with holiday cottages, a campsite and a small harbour scattered among fields and hedgerows. Ristinge makes an ideal base for exploring Langeland's gentle countryside, swimming, and enjoying long Baltic sunsets over the water.
