Rindsholm

Rindsholm is a small village in Central Jutland, set picturesquely in the river valley just south of Viborg, where field paths and beech woods meet a winding stream. The place is best known for the venerable Rindsholm Kro, one of the region's old roadside inns, and for the atmospheric memorial raised to honour the Danish soldiers who fell in the war of 1849. On the hill behind the inn stands a memorial mound with cannons, where the weight of history is easy to feel. Today Rindsholm is a quiet spot where travellers pause on the route between Viborg and the south to enjoy the scenery, stroll along the stream or explore the local history. The gently rolling Jutland countryside invites walks, and the surrounding fields and meadows shift beautifully with the seasons. A little gem for anyone seeking Danish rural idyll.
