Tucked into the flat, fertile farmland of Djursland in eastern Jutland, Revn is a tiny rural hamlet of roughly fifteen farms and some forty-five residents. It sits just south of the drained lake basin of Kolindsund, about five kilometres southwest of the harbour town of Grenaa, in Norddjurs Municipality. Though modest in size, Revn has quietly earned national affection as the home of Frank Erichsen — the 'Bonderøven' of Danish television — whose Kastaniegaarden smallholding celebrates old-fashioned self-sufficiency. In recent years the farm has also welcomed nesting storks, a rare and cherished sight in Denmark. Nearby you'll find an organic plant nursery and a small forest kindergarten, both in keeping with the village's back-to-the-land spirit. Revn offers no bustling attractions, but rather a genuine slice of Danish country life: open fields, big skies, birdsong and the slow rhythms of the Djursland countryside.
