Øster Assels

Øster Assels lies on the southern part of the island of Mors, wrapped in the calm waters of the Limfjord in northwestern Jutland. The village is one of several small communities in the Sydvestmors area, where gently rolling moraine hills, farmland and wide views across the fjord shape the surroundings. Here you feel the quiet, down-to-earth rhythm that defines life on Mors, far from any bustle. The parish church and old farmsteads speak of a long agricultural history, while narrow lanes lead on to fjord shores and tiny harbours. The landscape invites walking, cycling and birdwatching, and the Limfjord's famous shellfish and local produce are never far away. From Øster Assels it is easy to reach the island's main town, Nykøbing Mors, as well as the dramatic moler cliffs at Hanklit and Feggeklit. It is a place for those seeking calm, authentic Danish village life and the shifting coastal light over the fjord.
