Nygård

Nygård lies in North Zealand, in the gently rolling countryside a little inland from the Øresund coast between Helsingør and Espergærde. It is a quiet place where scattered houses, fields and green belts give way to one another, and where the nearness of both woodland and sea shapes everyday life. From here it is a short distance to the Øresund, whose view across to the Swedish shore is among the finest in the country, and to Helsingør's medieval streets and the famous Kronborg Castle. The area is well suited to leisurely walks and bicycle rides along narrow lanes lined with hedgerows and old trees. Despite its modest size, Nygård embodies the charm of North Zealand: closeness to the water, historic surroundings and a peaceful atmosphere far from city noise. For travellers seeking the authentic, coastal Denmark without tourist crowds, Nygård is a calm base from which to explore the region.
