Mou lies in eastern Himmerland within Aalborg Municipality, where open farmland meets the Kattegat coast. The village is a quiet base for nature outings and home to a well-preserved whitewashed church whose oldest parts date to the Middle Ages. A few kilometres south spreads Lille Vildmose – the largest raised bog in northwestern Europe and a protected reserve where you can watch red deer, wild boar and abundant birdlife from towers and viewing platforms. To the east you soon reach the beaches around Egense, where a ferry crosses the Limfjord to Hals. The surrounding area invites walking, cycling and slow days near the water. Mou itself has the relaxed atmosphere of North Jutland's countryside: a village pond, local farms and short distances to forest, moor and shore alike. It is a place where nature sets the pace and visitors find calm far from the bustle of the city.
