Marselisborg Palace and Garden

Marselisborg Palace is the summer residence of the Danish royal family, set in the coastal city of Aarhus. Built in the early twentieth century, it has served as the summer home of Queen Margrethe II since 1967, and the royal standard flying above the palace signals when the family is in residence. The surrounding Palace Park is one of the most beautiful royal gardens in Denmark, laid out with rose beds, sculptures, winding paths and manicured lawns. Reaching the palace is straightforward: buses run from the centre of Aarhus, and it is only about a twenty-minute walk from the harbour.
