Lyngerup

Lyngerup is a small village on Hornsherred, the fertile peninsula between Roskilde Fjord and Isefjord in North Zealand. Here you find the quiet, gently rolling farmland that defines the region: open fields, shelter hedges, scattered farmsteads and church towers etched against the sky. The village belongs to Frederikssund Municipality, and from here it is only a short drive to the market town of Frederikssund and its Viking heritage. The surrounding area invites unhurried drives and cycling trips along narrow country lanes, where you can experience authentic Danish rural life well away from the tourist crowds. The shoreline of Roskilde Fjord lies within reach, offering bathing spots, birdlife and wide views across the water. Lyngerup is not a place of grand attractions but a fine base for exploring Hornsherred's manor houses, village churches and fjord landscapes in one of Zealand's most unspoiled corners.
