Lyby

Lyby sits on the Salling peninsula in Skive Municipality, just a short walk from the calm waters of the Limfjord. The village is small and rural, wrapped in rolling fields, shelter hedges and the wide fjord horizons that define this corner of northern Jutland. At its heart stands the whitewashed Lyby Church, whose oldest parts reach back to the Middle Ages and still crown the parish. Northward the lanes lead to Lyby Strand, where low meadows and quiet shores invite walks, birdwatching and long views across the fjord toward the islands of Livø and Fur. Here you feel the West Jutland stillness: a handful of houses, open sky and a horizon that never quite ends. Lyby is not a place of grand attractions but for those seeking silence, history and the authentic Salling. Come for the church, the open landscape and the long bright evenings by the water.
