Levring

Levring

Levring is a small village on the Central Jutland uplands, a few kilometres south of Kjellerup in Silkeborg Municipality. It sits in a gently rolling moraine landscape of fields, shelterbelts and scattered farms, where the wide sky and long views across the farmland set the mood. The village's oldest landmark is Levring Kirke, a whitewashed medieval church with a stepped-gable tower that still gathers the local community. Levring is also known for its efterskole, a residential folk high school that brings youthful energy to the otherwise quiet parish. There are no tourist crowds here, and that is precisely the charm: calm lanes for cycling and running, the nearby nature of the lake highlands to the south, and an authentic sense of country life at the heart of Jutland. For travellers seeking stillness and genuine Danish provincial character, Levring is a peaceful stop away from the main routes.
