Krik

Krik is a small coastal village in Thy, in northwestern Jutland, beautifully set on the shallow bay of Krik Vig, part of the sprawling Limfjord system. The village lies just a few kilometres from the medieval town of Vestervig and close to the North Sea's pounding coast near Agger Tange. Krik has its roots in fishing and coastal shipping, and its modest harbour still testifies to the region's maritime life. Today the place draws nature lovers with rich birdlife, wide horizons and calm water that mirrors the vast sky. The area is a haven for anglers, birdwatchers and walkers seeking Thy's unspoilt landscapes. The interplay of fjord, sea and open meadows produces a remarkable light that has long fascinated artists. Krik makes an ideal base for exploring Thy National Park, dune heaths, sandy beaches and the quiet villages of this corner of Denmark.
