Iller is a small coastal hamlet on Broagerland, the gently rolling peninsula between the Nybøl Nor inlet and Flensburg Fjord in southern South Jutland. Here quiet fields and woodland edges meet the shallow, glittering fjord water, and the nearby Iller Strand is a favourite spot for swimmers, campers and families on a summer outing. The landscape is classic South Jutland: scattered farmsteads, sleepy gravel lanes and wide views across the water toward the German shore. The region carries a mixed Danish–German heritage, and the cobbled villages nearby still bear traces of the old borderland. From Iller it is a short hop to Broager, with its distinctive twin-towered church, and to lively Sønderborg with its castle and waterfront. Cycling and walking routes wind along the coast, and the still evenings with the sun setting over the fjord make this a peaceful base for exploring the South Jutland shoreline.
