Hunseby

Hunseby is a small village in southern Lolland, beautifully set between the protected Maribo Lakes and the Knuthenborg estate. Its landmark is the whitewashed Hunseby Church, whose medieval core and prominent tower rise high above the flat countryside. The surroundings are shaped by manorial landscape, old tree-lined avenues and rolling fields, inviting gentle walks and cycle rides. From Hunseby it is only minutes to Knuthenborg Safari Park, the largest in Northern Europe, where visitors encounter lions, giraffes and free-roaming animals. The market town of Maribo, with its cathedral, lakeside setting and cosy pedestrian street, lies close by. With its blend of nature, cultural history and rural calm, Hunseby makes a charming base for exploring the quiet, green heart of the Lolland countryside and its many hidden lanes.
