Gangesbro

Gangesbro is a small rural community in the gently rolling countryside of southern Zealand, a short drive southeast of Næstved. Set among farmland, hedgerows and patches of woodland, it belongs to a corner of Denmark where quiet lanes wind between scattered farmsteads and red-brick houses. There are no crowds here and few obvious landmarks — the appeal lies in the everyday Danish landscape, the big open skies, and the stillness that settles over the fields. The area is well placed for exploring nearby Holmegaard Mose, one of the country's largest raised bogs, and the glass-making heritage around Holmegaard and Fensmark. Cyclists and walkers appreciate the flat, unhurried roads, while the market town of Næstved, with its medieval churches and riverside harbour, is close enough for shopping and sightseeing. Gangesbro rewards travellers who enjoy discovering the unpolished, lived-in side of provincial Denmark.
