Frederiksberg Gardens

Frederiksberg Gardens (Frederiksberg Have) is one of the largest and most attractive green spaces in Copenhagen. Laid out in the romantic English landscape style in the late 18th century, it surrounds Frederiksberg Palace and, together with the adjacent Søndermarken, forms a green area of around 64 hectares at the western edge of inner Copenhagen. Admission to the garden is free, and boat rides cost roughly 80 DKK. Because it borders Copenhagen Zoo, families often combine a visit here with the animals next door, and the elevated terraces around the palace reward walkers with long views back across the greenery.
