Farstrup

Farstrup is a small village in Vesthimmerland, North Jutland, set in the gently rolling countryside south of the Limfjord and only a short drive from the charming market town of Nibe. The village gathers around its whitewashed medieval church, whose tower rises above farmsteads, gardens and the surrounding fields. Life here moves at an unhurried pace, with agricultural land reaching toward the fjord along a web of quiet lanes. Farstrup is no tourist magnet, and that is precisely its appeal for travellers seeking the real, unfiltered Denmark. From here it is a short hop to the waters of the Limfjord, to rich birdlife, and to the old streets and herring heritage of Nibe. Cycling and walking routes in the area open up wide views over meadow and water, and the evening light over the fjord is treasured by locals. A peaceful gem for the curious wanderer.
