Fårup Sommerland is one of Denmark's largest and most visited amusement parks, tucked into the forest and dunes of North Jutland between the coastal towns of Blokhus and Løkken. Open through the summer season, the park draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and has been voted Denmark's best amusement park more than once, thanks to its high standards and famously friendly service. There are well over 60 attractions spread across the grounds, ranging from wild roller coasters such as Falken and Lynet to gentle rides designed for the youngest guests, so families with children of very different ages can all find something to love. One of the biggest draws is the large water park included with entry, which has more capacity than that of any other amusement park in the country and turns a warm day into a full holiday in itself. The natural setting is part of the charm: instead of a flat asphalt fairground, the rides wind between tall pine trees and rolling sand hills, giving the whole park a green, open feel. Paths connect the different areas so it is easy to move between thrill rides, family attractions and the water park at your own pace. With its combination of adrenaline, water fun and beautiful coastal nature, Fårup Sommerland is built for a full day out with the whole family. Buying tickets online in advance usually saves money, and arriving right at opening time means shorter queues for the most popular rides.
