Bredbjerg

Bredbjerg is a small village on the island of Funen, set in the gently rolling countryside northwest of Odense. Here you meet the quiet, rural Denmark of farms, fields and hedgerows that change colour with the seasons, and narrow lanes winding between the houses. The area around Bredbjerg is known for its unhurried pace and its closeness to the scenic landscapes of Vissenbjerg and North Funen, where woodlands and low hills invite walking and cycling. The village makes a good base for travellers who want to experience genuine Funen idyll away from the tourist trails. From here it is a short trip to Odense, home of Hans Christian Andersen, and to Funen's many manor houses and coastlines. Bredbjerg offers no grand attractions, but rather a sense of homely calm, wide skies and a landscape that has shaped island life for generations. It is a place to breathe deeply and feel rural Denmark's heart.
