Bøvlingbjerg

Bøvlingbjerg is a small railway town in western Jutland, beautifully set between the gently rolling inland and the wide, shallow Nissum Fjord in Lemvig Municipality. The town grew up around the railway and still carries the mark of West Jutland's sturdy cooperative era, with its church, schools and a lively local community at the heart of daily life. Open countryside spreads out on every side, a patchwork of fields, hedgerows and vast skies, while roads west lead to the fjord and on to the dunes and beaches of the North Sea. The area is known for its birdlife, unspoiled nature and strong tradition of sports and folk high schools. Here you sense a calm, authentic Denmark far from city noise, where hospitality and community count for a great deal. Bøvlingbjerg makes a fine base for cycling and walking through the clean West Jutland landscape, where the light over the fjord shifts with weather and season.
