Bolderslev

Bolderslev is a small railway village in South Jutland, set in Aabenraa Municipality between the town of Aabenraa and the border settlement of Padborg. The village grew up around the railway that still links the district to the rest of the country, and it keeps a quiet, everyday charm far from the tourist trail. Flat fields, shelterbelts and small pockets of woodland shape a typically South Jutland landscape, one marked by a history in which the line between Danish and German shifted back and forth. The countryside around Bolderslev is well suited to cycling and walking along peaceful lanes, where you can take in open farmland and scattered homesteads. The village makes a handy base for exploring South Jutland's heritage, from Aabenraa's old seafaring quarter to the memorials of the borderland. Bolderslev offers no grand sights, but rather an authentic taste of local life, unhurried and close to nature.
