Arnager is a tiny fishing hamlet clinging to the south coast of Bornholm, where weathered cottages and red-roofed houses look out over the Baltic Sea. Its pride is the Arnager Bridge, a slender wooden pier stretching roughly 200 metres into the water — among the longest of its kind in Denmark — built so herring boats could reach deeper water. Once a busy herring station, the village still carries the salt-and-smoke atmosphere of Bornholm's fishing past, with a small harbour and the scent of the sea drifting between the narrow lanes. Today Arnager is a peaceful spot, loved for slow walks along the shore, sunsets over the water, and the timeless feel of a place the tourist crowds mostly pass by. Nearby cliffs, meadows and cycle paths make it an easy detour from Rønne.
