Andst Stationsby

Andst Stationsby lies in southern Jutland between Kolding and Vejen, close to the E20 motorway. It is a classic Danish railway town that grew up in the late 19th century, when the line from Lunderskov to Esbjerg was built and brought trade, crafts and new houses to the district. The name Andst, however, reaches further back, to the older parish village a short distance away with its whitewashed medieval church. Today Andst Stationsby is a quiet community with a school, a grocery shop, a village hall and an active club life, surrounded by the gently rolling Jutland farmland. The area invites unhurried walks and bike rides along small country roads, and from here both Kolding with its Koldinghus castle and the nature areas of the west coast are within easy reach. Andst Stationsby offers a genuine glimpse of Danish rural life, where the railway's history can still be felt in the town's layout and buildings.
